Our Halloweeen

We had a great Halloween this year, this was the first Halloween that we had a home to decorate and our neighborhood is very family orientated and so we had a ton of adorable trick or treaters. We took the pups to the pumpkin patch, they both wore the cutest shirts that said "I love my mummy, " We carved 2 very large pumpkins, Krayton is so good at cleaning the pumpkins out, he does it in like 2 minutes. I had tons of pumpkin seeds so I am going to roast some and attempt to make pumpkin seed brittle. Lets hope I don't ruin another pot in the process of trying to make brittle. On Halloween night Krayton and I sat on the front porch in our new rocking chairs (thanks again Nate and Joy!) to pass out candy, and I even got Krayton to wear a headband with pig tails attached to it, it was hysterical. Good thing I planned ahead and bought candy only when I could get it on sale because we went through almost 7 bags. We also had the pleasure of our good friends Tori and Jeff bringing over their son Jake all dressed up, he was a police officer, and he sang the Cops theme song, too cute. After the trick or treaters we of course had to watch "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" and then because it was Halloween we cuddled up and watched "The Exorcist". So all in all it was a great first Halloween in our first home! It's hard to tell but we had pumpkin stake lights lining the path. Got to love Target!

The pumpkin patch.

He concentrates so much when he is cleaning out the pumpkins.

It was difficult to get a good pic but it was a scary house, and Goofy as Frankenstein.

Nice pig tails!
We both love Charlie Brown, especially since I call Krayton Charlie Brown head.

Don't forget to pause the music on the right to hear the video!
In the video he sings it real quick in the beginning, but the better one is at the end, oh and Lucy did NOT pee on the counter, Tori thought that was sooo funny. He is only 4 but he looks 6, he looks just like his dad.

Oh My Buble!

Krayton and I saw Michael Buble live in Pensacola on Friday. This was our second time seeing him in concert, and it was just as amazing as the first time. Buble holds a special place in our hearts because the first time we saw him in Atlanta was right after our wedding. His shows are like no other and if you ever get the chance to see him live GO FOR IT! The first time we saw him Krayton had no interest at all but got amazing seats for us to go as a gift to me, little did he know that he would be a fan forever after that. I have previously mentioned that Krayton often sings Michael Buble around the house and especially to Lucy, she loves when he sings to her, well he sang his lungs out at the show in Pensacola, and I think I fell in love with him even more. Now there are many perks being married to Krayton, he is an amazing man and husband, and we are so in love even after all this time BUT he also owns a memorabilia company and so some unusual perks present themselves in that. Including...#1. One of his biggest clients owns a ticket brokering company, so we always have the most amazing seats to whatever shows we want even when they are sold out. #2. He knows how to meet celebrities and is completely at ease around them. As you will see in the pictures of us and Michael Buble that follow. Lucky, lucky ME!
We had so much fun and Krayton is already planning our next trip to see him, he's thinking Madison Square Gardens (NYC) in December, but last time we went to NYC in December all I wanted to do was stay in the hotel because it was so cold, so I'm not sure about that one.

Without sounding too Gossip Girl, OMG!

Really, seriously, did this happen?

Um yeah, so the lady who we asked to take our picture at the show was not to camera savvy, but I guess it didn't help that Krayton was much taller than her, so this was the best she got. My hair looked so much better earlier in the night but it was sprinkling outside and well you see what happened to my hair.

This is how close our seats were and you can see how Buble really interacts with the crowd.

Our Weekend

We had a pretty relaxing weekend, Krayton had a tooth pulled on Friday so we figured we should take it easy. He begged me to put a picture up of his tooth on here but I said NO, the gross factor is just too much, but for some reason he thinks it is so "awesome" to quote him. Anyway as some of you might know the Red Sox (Krayton's team) in playing in some sort of big game series, so the majority of the evenings were spent watching the Red Sox kick butt, well at first. So while the husband was being manly and hooting and hollering at the TV I was sewing. I made a nightgown in one night I was so proud of myself. On Sunday Krayton decided he would kill some weeds with weed killer, which I hate because of all the chemicals but what can you do, he had his mind set. He always looks so cute doing yard work, I could stay and watch him and take pictures of him out there all day. Guess that's that whole LOVE thing, I would assume not everyone thinks he looks adorable spraying weed killer. My sister and I went shopping on Sunday while Krayton did his "chores," my sister and I always have some fun, especially shopping. I also went to CVS today and did pretty good with the whole saving thing. I only spent $15.00 and saved $42.00, pretty good for a newbie in my opinion. I am not quite as good as the others yet, I swear they go and spend like $5.00 and have enough for a year. But I am still learning and hope to be getting better and better.

Notice the hat. GO RED SOX!

Ahh he's working so hard, too cute.

So you might be wondering about the diaper on my sister's dog (Rhett Butler, a morkie), well he has a bit of a pee pee problem and we just had the house cleaned (including all baseboards) yesterday, so I diapered him. I know mean Aunt Lauren!

My ridiculously beautiful sister acting silly at World Market, she loves that store, and by the way she did not buy that, not on my watch anyway.

All my CVS purchases, only $15.oo, the two lotions alone would cost that much usually. Hope the candy lasts until Halloween.

What have we been doing?

We have had a very busy week hence the non-existent blog posting, so I will give you a quick run down of what has been happening here.
1.Shannon and I had an amazing and hysterical girls/craft night last week where we finally finished our cart covers, I realize that I may not have the need for a cart cover right now but I hope to need one some day. We laughed the majority of the night and I feel so grateful to have her in my life. Mine is the black and white damask fabric, it's hard to tell what they are but you can get the gist of it.
2.Um our 2.5 year old Plasma TV broke out of no where so we had to get a new one. YUCK!
3.Lucy tore some more stuff up, SURPRISE!
4. Krayton has this thing about taking pictures of me while I am sleeping, I guess it's sweet but really who wants to see what they look like sleeping, but he does get some cute ones of the pups and me.
Following are corresponding pictures to the events. I hope to post some more interesting stuff later.

My Currents!

I thought it would be a good idea to share what are my current favorites at any particular moment including books, music, food, etc. Whatever it happens to be that I am probably mildly obsessed with at that time. I find out about amazing books, music, and recipes from friends and family and thought I would share them with all of you. I couldn't think of a more clever name than "my currents," and so here is the first "my currents."

1.The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer! Oh my goodness if you have not read the twilight saga books, what are you waiting for? The experience from reading these 4 books is like no other I have experienced and I read A LOT. At first you may not understand all the hype, but after the first um 2 pages you will be hooked. And the first movie is due out Nov. 21, 2008, I can not wait! It is are a love story that just happens to involve a vampire, they are nothing like Anne Rice, and they are the quickest read ever because you can not put them down. They are huge bestsellers and after you read them you will understand. GO TO THE BOOKSTORE NOW!!! You can check out the authors web page here, she was a stay at home mom with 3 small children and this story line came from a dream she had. You can also see the movie trailer below. Make sure you pause the playlist on the lower right before you play the trailer.

2. Maradonna, Lucy Scwartz, and Feist. I love all of these artists right now, my music taste is pretty eclectic and these are what I am listening to all the time right now. They are all on iTunes, and actually Maradonna is one of my sisters co-workers at Green Peridot bands, she is the lead singer and her voice to amazing. They have not made it big YET but they are on their way.

3. Dancing with the Stars, I love this show and so does the husband, but that probably has more to do with the fact that Warren Sapp is on it. I probably love it so much because I am so completely ungraceful and uncoordinated that watching people who are the opposite is fascinating to me.

4. A hodge podge... funfetti cupcakes YUMMY, the Rachel Ray moppeine dish towel and potholder in one , my SIGG bottle (better for the enviroment and your body, NO BPAS, and proceeds to charity) you can find here, a ceramic pear I found at Marshalls, and Yankee Candle soy candles ( I have been waiting for them to realize that "green" candles are a good idea, NOT MANY VOCS woo hoo.)

Yeah for Grey's!

That's right Grey's Anatomy is coming back to save me from the boredom of summer TV. The Fall is here and I am so excited, the weather is getting prettier and prettier, it's time for all things pumpkin (muffins, bars, pie, carving, etc), and all my shows are coming back! WOO HOO, Krayton and I don't agree on much in the area of good TV, I mean I can only watch ESPN for so long, but Grey's Anatomy and Jon and Kate Plus Eight are the exception. We have always watched Grey's together and we are both so thrilled it's back. I have often contemplated having Grey's watching parties but I am really a 80 year old stuck in a 25 year old body and 9:00 on a week night seems late, besides I love the cuddle TV time with my hubby. Yesterday my Shannon came over so we could start the tradition of "Wednesday attempting to sew together day", we didn't get much sewing done as were trying to decipher all the cutting pattern lingo, she is much better at than me. I did manage to get some cute pics of her concentrating very hard, and some adorable pics of the boys (Krayton and Gabe) watching TV together. I have also been working on some projects of my own, including quite a funny one. One night I decided that I would try the whole applique thing, but wasn't sure what to applique, so I put a very cute K on one of my husbands t-shirts, the thought of him wearing an appliqued t-shirt makes me giggle. He was very amused, as was everybody I told about it. I also made a pillow with a R on it for my sisters bed, and Krayton and I made some toy holders for the pups. I had to throw some toys away and put some away for reserve they had so many. So that's about it for my rambling, to all who love Grey's enjoy it, we will!

"Lucy you got some splaining to do!"

I don't know about all you out there but I am a lover of all old TV shows, especially I Love Lucy, and anything with Bob Newhart in it. Hence the title quote from I Love Lucy, anyway our new puppy Lucy is quite the destroyer, and she definitely has some explaining (splaining) to do. I have included some pictures of her most recent "victims." She's lucky she is so stinking cute otherwise we might be irritated.

The carpet she chewed off from under the door of my closet.

A corner in the kitchen where she chewed through drywall.

The area rug in the master that she has chewed a hole in.

But then she wakes up from a nap looking like this and how can you be mad at a face like that ( loving the bed head)?

Saturday with sick husband = crafting time.

My poor husband has a cold, he is so pitiful. That means that leaving the house for any period of time is out of the question, because since he is a man he is completely helpless when he's sick. But that does leave me with some time to TRY to be crafty. Thanks to Darby I had the cutest inspiration for a wreath, of course hers looks about a 1,000 times better. Here are the results...

Teeny tiny hair bows for my Lucy. I used the elastics that are used for braces as the rubber band to hold them in her hair.

So here is the wreath, it looks a little messy BUT the bear actually plays the fight song. GO FSU!

Here is a cute pic of Lucy wearing one of her bows and a matching dress.

Hey I can save too... WHO KNEW?

Ok if you know me any kind of way you know that I am a professional shopper, and if you asked my husband he would say I am professional spender. I love to shop for anything and everything, a trait I received from my mom, who often accompanies me on my voyages. Well I kept seeing all these blog posts of all these different people saving serious money, and I thought to myself "I could do that, maybe?" So I researched all that I could and read many a blog post about saving. Plus I had something new to organize (coupons, receipts, lists, etc), so much fun. Organizing is something I tend to take to far, but I don't care I LOVE IT!So Thursday I embarked on my first ever coupon carrying, plan making, BOGO searching shopping adventure. I had a few missteps but overall think I did pretty good especially for being my first time, here is the rundown. I don't know all the frugal lingo so bear with me.

1st stop- COSTCO = saved $20.75 with costco coupons
2nd stop- CVS = saved $11.17 with coupons and sales PLUS got $8.99 in Extrabucks for later
3rd stop- Publix = $50.24 ($20.75 in coupons, and $29.49 in specials)
TOTAL SAVED = $82.16

So there it is, it may not seem like a lot but I hope to make this something I do all the time and get better at. Thank you to all those bloggers out there who clued me in and taught me how.

Thought I might as well add some pictures to make it a little more interesting.

Here are my little coupon/list/receipt organizers, Publix deserved one of it's very own.

This is Lucy wearing her very first bow that I made for her, she loved it she didn't try and take it out once. She's our rough and tumble girly girl.

This is what occurs every time Krayton comes home, whether he has been gone 2 minutes or 2 days, they love their daddy. As usual the husband is in a Red Sox hat, GO RED SOX (that's for you Shannon).

When my heart hurts....

When my heart hurts it is hard not to become bitter, angry, frustrated and all of the emotions that follow events that seem unfair. I unfortunately have suffered from some events that have evoked those very emotions and even more emotions that I am not proud of. BUT it is during those trying times that I find myself feeling lucky for all the people that God has blessed me with. My husband who surprises me everyday with his unconditional love and devotion to me and concern for my well being, and sanity for that matter. My mommy who proves that no matter what you have been through you can come out on the other side stronger and more loving, she who can hug and cuddle me out the worst places. My sister who always reminds me laughter is the best medicine and that my life is a beautiful life. My Shannon who loves me without boundaries and who understands my unreasonable worries like no other without judgement. And all my other friends and family who send all their good thoughts and prayers and love me each in their own way. And I can't forget about my pups who somehow always know when to give me more cuddles and love than I know what to do with. I love you all so much and have found that through these many trials I can handle more than I ever thought possible and can still feel lucky for the life that I am blessed to live. Thank You All So Much!!! The first song that plays on this blog says it perfectly, please take a minute and listen. All of you are my Sunday!

Just for the sake of cuteness!!

I thought I would post some cute pictures of the pups, and of my bub (Shannon and EJ's son Gabe). I see Gabe quite often and he is always doing something cute, and I have begun just taking pictures of him all the time. Love Ya Gabe!

Here is Lucy is the middle of the living room floor with some items she collected and then made herself a little spot to lay in (although she has a fancy crate, and two beds, and free reign of the house, she preferred to lay with a dog toy, a slipper, and a sandal).

Jack is always absolutely exhausted after his trip to the groomer, and every 6 weeks after his appointments this is what he does for the rest of the day, and Lucy decided to join him. How is that comfortable?

I love Lucy's girly eyes, she is becoming quite the daddy's girl. She loves when he sings to her, especially Michael Buble songs, I hope to be sneaky and get a video of him singing to her it is so sweet.

Here is my bub wearing my glasses, he definitely looks cuter in them than me.

Oh and not only does Gabe like my glasses, he loves my iPhone and my car. He's a nascar driver stuck in a toddlers body.

The New Home

As many of you know from previous posts we have just bought our first home. Quick description of the neighborhood that I love (although I recognize that this kind of community is not every one's cup of tea.)It is called Southwood, and it is a very family orientated (AND GOLF) community, we love all our neighbors and everyone is so friendly. We feel so safe here, and the parks and trails are amazing, we can't wait to raise a family here. I have been promising pictures of the new digs and so without further ado here they are, there are quite a few but I wanted to make sure that I got all the good points ( in my point of view of course.)HOME SWEET HOME!

This is what you see as soon as you walk in the door, we really try to live our life together following that sentiment.

Foyer, and the lady holding the tray was at our wedding holding mints, and my mommy and I named her Charlotte. Apparently we are like the most narcissistic couple ever because all the pictures of are us. Haha

This is one corner of the living room, my reading and knitting chair, I searched and searched for the perfect comfy chair.

Krayton of course had to have the biggest couch ever but we love it, we cuddle up and watch TV and sometimes I can even talk him into rubbing my feet.

I was hard to get a good picture of the kitchen but I love it , I love the counter tops they have silver shards in them and they are so pretty. I also love the glass tile back splash, once it was finally installed it made the biggest difference.

The next thing to find is a bigger dining room table, but this one does just fine for now. The love the light fixture which I found at West Elm for a steal of a deal, Krayton was very excited since the other ones we were deciding between were about 5 times the price.

We had to have this saying in our master, we do not go to sleep without a kiss, and an I love you, even when Krayton is out of town on business.

Master bedroom, including his and hers closets (thank goodness), I love the area rug and you can't tell but the ceiling is painted a chocolate brown. The pictures above the bed are some of the sweetest pics from the wedding.

Master bathroom, not our favorite but we are so grateful for our home that we can deal. I hate the white counter tops, YUCK! They are impossible to keep clean and when you are slightly OCD about cleanliness it can become troublesome.

Powder Room downstairs.

The husband's office, this room is still a work in progress but he loves having a space all his own, well except for my Pilate's machine which he thought if he put in his office I would be more inclined to use.

Junk Room, this is where we put all the stuff we are unsure where else to put. God willing this will someday be a nursery.

Upstairs Guest Bathroom, nothing exciting.

This is my office nook, I meal plan here and search for recipes and I do my sewing here, I love having a space for that.

So it may seem weird to have a picture of the laundry room but I am so in love with our washer and dryer. I love the color and I love doing laundry now, plus it has a allergiene cycle, and that is so cool for a sickly girl like me. If anybody is in the market for a new washer and dryer the LG steam ones are amazing and I highly recommend them.
