Critter Class

Blake is a beast of a toddler, bigger than most in every sense of the word. He is lovable and cuddly and a joy but at the same time can be aggressive and alpha male and stubborn, much like all the males in this house and so it comes as no surprise to any who know us. Socialization is much needed and we were not quite ready for preschool so when I heard about Critter Class at the amazing Tallahassee Museum I knew I wanted to give it a try. After the first class I quickly pre-registered for months and months in advance because it is awesome. Excuse the crappy pictures I was having lighting/setting issues that day.
The boy loves to run, until he doesn't when he quickly asserts to me that I will be carrying him, all size 4T, 35 pounds of him.

They have indoor activities set up like counting and puzzles etc,and this particular day finger painting which of course Blake got green paint on his brand new crewcut sweatshirt. Oh it still hurts to think about since it DID NOT COME OUT! Then they have outdoor activities like bubbles and dirt digging and shaving cream painting. Then we head to whichever animal is the focus for that week to take a real life peek, and read a story. This usually means snack time for most of the kiddos
This is P, I love her and all that she is. She is gorgeous, strong willed, and a take no crap kind of girl just the kind of girl my Bub needs. Except they are going through something right now, I think Blake liked it better when she would just lay on her back and he could lay on top of her at which point they could get lost in each others amazing baby blues...Now she takes his toys, or doesn't give him her toys, and she hits him right back, like I said she is not fooled by his beauty :)

These two pictures represent their current relationship perfectly, one minute love, the next not so much. Doesn't P look quizzical about the state of affairs, if she only knew men will forever be hard to understand.

After class is over you have the entire museum to enjoy, which includes an amazing playground!

Baby butt and baby boots! Love it!
Expect to see more critter class pictures!!!

No Naps + Pinterest = Pinspirations

Have I mentioned Blake has dropped his naps.... Oh I have oops, what can I do it continues to blow my mind a month and a half later. Anyway the upside to no naps in the fact that he is down for the night around 7:30 and it takes me like 5 minutes to get him down. But I do miss him at night, and the husband tends to work a hour or so after Blake goes down so that he can spend time during the day with us and so I'm bored! I don't work so I have no "work" to do, cleaning out of the question (cleaning is loud right? and Yollie would be so offended), and so crafting has been my go to. And without Pinterest I don't now what I would be crafting, what did I do before Pinterest. And so here are my Halloween Pinspirations (does that not make sense???).......
First off in order to get into the Fall/Halloween decorating mood a Pumpkin Spice Latte decaf (nursing toddler does not need an ounce of caffeine) non fat, no whip, 5 pump is necessary. I have a pretty heavy 4-5 psl addiction happening even the husband knows the drill.

Candy corn yarn cones, so easy and Blake loves them.

Dollar Tree candy corn wreath, did you know everything in a Dollar Tree is a dollar? Holy Moly I had no idea I assumed it was like other dollar stores with everything being cheapish but not all 1 dollar. I got the wreath form, crepe paper, and candy corn all for 3 dollars!

Entryway, I made the modpodge BOO and cut the top of a craft pumpkin and added some branches which Blake decorated some bats for.

I had to crop out the big guys business, if you get my drift. He loves to be naked.

Living room side table, Ikea candlesticks, real white pumpkins, an apothecary jar because they make everything better, and some spiders.

Obviously a day doesn't go by in this house without a little Coton Color decor

Love those Coton Color pumpkins, and yes I take a million pictures a day and yet my frame is empty, whats up with that?
Paper banner, don't love how it turned out but live and learn

I added a J to our Halloween wreath after seeing a million monogram wreath ideas, I used some glitter paint but think I might just paint it all black....

The pillows are my favorite I made them with Martha Stewart glitter paint, and a canvas dropcloth from Walmart. I love how they turned out, the paint chipping off the front porch chairs on the other hand I hate but our porch gets so much sun it's not shocking.

This is Krayton's childhood wagon and those are paper fasteners in the pumpkins. Blake picked out the scarecrows at Michaels.

Blake's art projects have been Halloween themed lately and all the ideas I have found on Pinterest I love all the handprint/footprint ideas I have found on there.

I put out all his Fall/Halloween books on his toy organizer so we can talk about the happening of the season often. Mainly he spends most of his time moving those three pumpkins to the other table with the other three pumpkins apparently he feels they should be together.

That's it for now and as my Mother sarcastically says "it would appear your bored" I am happy to be using my hands for something other than wiping butts and cutting apples.

And so it begins.....

There are some things every parent can't wait for when they find out the are having a baby. From the moment we found out we were having a boy and Krayton yelled "yes" so loud that everyone in the office heard, and smiled from ear to ear for days and days I knew he was envisioning all those father son activities that they would soon share. Let's be honest the first year it's pretty much mommy centric, and although their bond was apparent from the beginning I am watching them grow closer and closer with every passing day. They share so many special things that are just theirs, evening tackle practice, and night night kisses, and trips to pick out new movies and now...... tee ball! Just about everyday that Krayton is home he sets up the tee and my boys have at it! These pictures are from the first real lesson type play time, the joy in my husband was palpable and I love every second watching him relish in these special moments.

I love this one, he's looking at Krayton with such pride, like "watch this Dad"

Blake loves it, shocking I know but it's apparent it's in his bloodline. I have a feeling I will be taking many many many pictures just like this one in future years.

And of course some beauty shots for Mommy.

The perfect October welcome!

Time seems to fly by once a child enters your life, one day they are 6 pounds of cuddly sleepy joy, the next day they are 34 pounds of opinionated still cuddly mostly joy. October seems to have snuck upon on us and before we knew it was October 1st, and with it came amazing weather and a day full of fun for us Johnsons. We first headed to get me my every growing Starbucks pumpkin spice latter fix, ahhhh so good! Then we went to the Pumpkin patch we have been taking Bub too since he arrived, Blake was not in happy that we had to get out of the car right in the middle of his movie so as you will see he made it known, like I said opinionated!

Now you tell me know you could ever say no to that face, let me tell you it is not easy.

That is his toy story harmonica, thanks Mom for that by the way.

But Daddy knows all the make him laugh tricks, and it started to turn around.

Best jeans ever fit him great, crewcuts has officially kicked gapkids out!

They had a bounce house and so he bounced.

Oh lookey I was there too!
Of course Blake wanted some coins or "hamm" as he calls them to put in the here.
Then we headed to the playground.

My kid can lounge anywhere, it's a talent.

Hair and wind combo
Momo's pizza for lunch Blakey and Daddy's fav

My fav because my sissy works next door and can come visit

And get some of the best loving around, Blakey loving.....

Now I tried and tried to give him organic lollipops on the plane to NYC and he would have none of it so when I filled a jar full of them that night for Halloween I figured it would not be a problem. I decided to try one, just one or two or five, and he stole it from me and enjoyed his first lollipop, no worries it a Yummy Earth organic watermelon, no yucky red food dye here people!

Here's hoping the rest of October can live up to such a great beginning.
