The Big Birthday Bash!!!

Blake loves his Fisher Price farm and thus the farm theme for his first birthday party was hatched. I love planning things and especially love all the small details that drive my husband looney :) It was a great day filled with family, friends, and fun. Blake did quite well for being a little sleepy and having about 45 extra people in his house, and about 18 kids playing with his toys. I realize that he won't remember this party but my hope is that when he's older he will look back at the pictures and think that Mommy and Daddy really celebrated my first birthday and they treasured our first year together so much that they threw me a big party!!!

Almost all of the pictures are courtesy of my sister, I'm sorry to say I was just too busy with hostessing duties to be in charge of pictures so I handed my camera to my sister. This is one of the few of the birthday boy wearing his hat.

This is not a happy picture but its the best one we have of his tee shirt, the barn even had a "1" on it.

I loved the cake, it had to be a Publix cake and the did exactly what I wanted, obviously we had a large cow print sheet cake for cutting.

My friend Shannon came over the night before to help with some food and set up, including the hummus carrot patchs, and the haystacks. Thanks Shannon!!!

My husbands main contribution to party ideas was the edible arrangement he loves those things even if he doesn't eat fruit.

This was the welcome banner, I loved it!!!

The favors were in metal buckets and included a personalized coloring book, crayons, chalk, and knick knacks.
When the kids came in they each picked a farm animal visor to wear and take home.

I put out some of Blake's favorite farm toys and farm books for the kids to play with.

We bought a bouncy house since we figured Blake would enjoy it soon enough, we also had a tunnel and ball pit, a baby swing set and some hay set up for pictures (that I of course forgot about and the barn scene kept falling down).

This birthday banner was not so easy to make but Im glad I did.

I made a DVD of pictures and videos of the birthday boy with music of all his favorite songs.

I had a table set up with farm shaped sugar cookies (horses, cows, ducks) and decorating supplies to each decorate their own cookie.

Still not very interested in his cake, didn't eat any of it except a small bit of frosting.

I searched and searched for this hat for Blakey and he basically refused to wear it the whole party. Those little boots are too stinking cute.

Blake played with the balloons until finally there was nothing left of them.

How freaking cute!!! You and Krayton did a wonderful job... between the hay stacks (rice crispy treats), fruit arrangment, the banner, the cake, the hats/masks for the kids, and his adorable hat and boots! I'm sure everyone had a great time...especially the little ones!

Love,
Shelby
