Halloween Weekend 2011

We live in an amazing community and our block especially is full of wonderful families and tons and tons of kids. Our next door neighbor invited us to a homemade ice cream social Halloween weekend and it was great fun to hang out with all the neighbors, although that happens fairly often in our alley.

 Clothes or more the act of getting dressed has become a source of conflict in the land of Blake. So this afternoon I just could not muster the energy to fight a cute pair  of jeans and polo on the kid and so this outfit was easier to pull onto the body of a very fast toddler. It is a Blabla outfit though and if you know what Blablas are you know this outfit is as soft as the hundreds of dollars worth of Blabla stuffed animals Blake has, that his mother may or may not enjoy more than him ;)

 Blake insisted on dragging his Mater bubble mower to the party.

 He kept going back for crackers, so much so that our sweet neighbors gave Blake crackers when we went trick or treating, like I said amazing neighborhood.

 The next day we headed to the pumpkin patch for the third time this year to get some pumpkins to carve. I made his shirt this year and despite 16 thread changes to complete it I think I like the end result.

 This is what I assume was a gourd Baby Jesus that Blake took out of the cradle to give back to the Mommy scarecrow... or Scarecrow Virgin Mary I should say.

 During carving Daddy did this while.....

 And this pumpkin was supposed to be used for his cowboy potato head pumpkin but Blake had other plans.

 The Rackleys came over to trick or treat with us and this picture cracks me up!

 Blake was Buzz Lightyear are you shocked???? No your not...what!

 I kid you not the Krayton and I pulled up costumes online and repeatedly Blake picked Buzz there was no fighting it, I got two Halloweens of picking his costumes and I guess those days are gone. I was really pulling for a cute potterybarn dinosaur.

 Oh and despite the fact that this is a genuine Disney costume with light up wings and we got him special fancy pant Buzz glasses that also light up he hates clothes right now and thus costumes are like the worst thing ever!!!! No wings, no hat, no glasses, what can you do?

 By the end of the night he just wanted to color his Halloween "Mik eye Cubhouse" coloring book.

The pumpkin results, I did Mickey which Blake requested and Daddy did the circle one, Krayton was so proud of himself.
