Baby's First Christmas!

Well Blake's first Christmas was a huge success. He had a ridiculous amount of gifts, I think he officially owns every Fisher price toy for his age range. He got a ton of books which are his favorite thing. This was our best Christmas ever and I never thought I would be one who would not care about opening gifts for myself but I only wanted to watch my child enjoy all that Christmas has to offer. Here is Blake's Christmas in pictures....
His Santa outfit to deliver the gifts to the neighbors.
Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix and Homemade marshmallows for the neighbors.
He was in a much better mood when we got home.

Christmas Eve trying to open a gift.
Christmas Morning Begins, what a cute hiney!

A boy who loves his Daddy.
Santa does what now????

Just tuckered out from all the festivities.
Which makes me think of this gift that I got for the Hubs, so sweet!
Holding his Charlie Brown stocking I made for him.

This outfit was just too cute not to take pictures of, he got a ton of babyGap gifts.

Christmas Dinner outfit, he looks like such a grown up little boy in this outfit.
For Christmas dinner he had delicious organic oatmeal cereal.
He ended the night dancing around with his Aunt Rachael.

Merry Christmas everyone, I hope it was as wonderful for you as it was for us!

Lights, camera maybe!

We headed to Dorothy B Oven tonight to let Blakey see the christmas light display. It was cold, and wintery like it should be and my sister met us out there and added to the fun. I brought my new camera and soon found out the combination of night, and lights make for novice photographs. Here are a couple I love anyway...

He was enjoying the lights.

Moments like these I love the most, catching sweet father son moments.

Over it!

An Early Christmas Gift!

I got an early Christmas gift from my husband, a new camera! A fancy camera, a
Canon Rebel EOS T1i. I got it last night when I guilted my husband into giving it to me because he gave me a cold, and I didn't feel good. Needless to say I spent all day taking pictures mostly of.. you guessed it, Blake. Here are some of my favorites, mind you I have no idea what I am doing and have never used a "big" camera before.

He is so his father!
He was yelling at me!

Blake Singing (kind of)...

Blake and I were checking out one of our friend's blogs and this song came on and he just started singing/yelling at the computer. Later that night I pulled up the song on you tube and this is what occured....

P.S. I promise my kid wears clothes but this was right before bath time and if he spits up on something before bath time I don't bother putting new clothes on him

***REMEMBER you have to pause the playlist down on the right to hear the video.

First Thanksgiving

This is a big day for our little Blakey, his first Thanksgiving, and his first solid (kind of) very runny rice cereal. I had always thought I would wait until at least 6 mths to give the big guy solids but the poor thing watches us like a hawk when we eat, grabs at our food, and was exhibiting he was ready. We had a great holiday, very relaxing, I did a spatchcocked turkey, a huge cheesecake, and some very pretty place cards (THANKS MARTHA STEWART, all her ideas). We have so much to be thankful for this year, and we try to remember that everyday not just on Thanksgiving.

Spatchcocked turkey prior to cooking, only took 80 mins to cook. This cheesecake felt like it weighed 12 lbs.

WE CAUGHT IT!

HIS LAUGH on video that is, we have been trying for months to get him laughing on video but every time he would be laughing I would run and get the camera only to find that he was now refusing to laugh, little stinker. When Daddy is out of town I have bathe him in his tub (baby soaking tub from Ikea that he loves, he hated his rain forest tub) in kitchen, my mom was staying with us while Daddy was gone and well you will see....

A quick pic update...

Blake is doing great teething, bouncing, all those fun things here are just a couple pics of some things he has been doing lately.

Holding his bouncer like a steering wheel.
Tummy time and playing piano, which he also loves to kick.
Eating out in his great new portable highchair.
First time sitting in a shopping cart, I am sure his father and I looked crazy taking pictures while waiting in line at the Publix deli. (I made that cover by the way, prior to knowing we were having a boy, I guess it's a little girly.

4 Months!

It's official Blake is 4 mths old, mind you he has been as big as a 4 mth old for a while.

Blake at 4 months....

1. Loves to watch us eat anything and everything ( ready for solids probably?)
2. Smiles constantly
3. Laughs at the silliest things and not the things that you would think he would laugh at, like peek a boo (not interested at all)
4. Weighs probably close to 19 lbs
5. Has started to regulate his naps (3 a day usually) (9:30 am, 12:30 pm, and approx 4:00 pm)
6. Loves Loves Loves his Daddy
7. Goes out to eat with us and watches everything happening around him
8. Rolls over half ways
9. Sits up unassisted for a 30 seconds or so
10. Talks and talks and talks, especially right before he falls asleep on my shoulder, he just yaps his way to dream land
11. Loves music!
12.Loves to bounce in his exerciser
13. IS TEETHING! (and handling it like a man, quietly and with a serious face about it, often chewing on his hands for comfort)
14. Is loosing his hair in strange places (side of his head) and yet still gets complements on how "pretty and adorable" he is no matter where he goes. I obviously think he is the most beautiful baby ever but I may be a little biased.
15. Has started to emulate the sound patterns we say, such as "I love you" and "mama". Not actually saying it but following the syllable pattern so cute.
16. He also has found his yelling voice (very loud)!
17. Give the most adorable and slobbery kisses.
18. Continues to be the love of our lives, the most perfect gift, and brings more joy to our lives everyday!

He was not at all interested in doing this pic, can you tell?

A pic I got of him wearing mommy's glasses, the lighting is bad but he still looks adorable. I love babies in grown up glasses.

A lunch out

Krayton and I have always loved to go out to eat and so when we decided to start a family we always said we wanted to be able to go out to eat altogether, and we do. But today was different since Blake had to move up to a big boy car seat we no longer have the infant carrier to take into restaurants and so today we went out to lunch at Famous Dave's (yum) and Blake sat in his bumbo like a big boy, of course he was a hit with the all the girl servers. It is moments like these that make me stop and realize how fast time is going and how fast he is growing, Krayton took a picture of him on his phone and he just looks so grown up already.

A video of little man out to eat, not interesting to many people probably other than family, and yes I did say "very many to choose from" in a baby voice, I am not sure why talking to him makes me loose all grammar.

Baby's First Halloween

We had an awesome Halloween, I have many friends who have recently had babies and so I wanted to get them altogether in their costumes for pictures. We actually managed to do it, it was hysterical, Blake was just as laid back as ever and just watched all the craziness. As usual he was the biggest as you can see, but he is also the oldest. The day began just hanging out at home and doing some baking for the get together. Blake watched some football with Daddy and then the guests began to arrive. After everyone left we went trick or treating with our good friends, Jeff, Tori, Jake and Cash. Obviously Jake was the only collecting candy but it was fun to stroll around with the babies. The night ended with little Blakey being exhausted and falling asleep with daddy. It was such a great first Halloween and I imagine as he gets older they will only get better.

For some reason this makes me think of the movie Zoolander.
