HE'S POTTY TRAINED!
I say this with a conflicted heart, I almost miss the diapers. This seems like such a huge step into unbabyhood, that it makes my heart ache.
On the other hand I am so proud of him.
In typical Blakey fashion he waited until he knew he was good and ready and never looked back. Just like walking, I worried about him being a late walker (15 months) and then one day he just took off there was hardly any wobbly baby stage just walk to run!
Same with potty training we tried and tried and he resisted. I would leave him naked, put him on the potty where he would do nothing, and then 10 minutes later he would pee on the floor and look at me and say "no diaper..." Like don't mess with me Mom I will do it when I am good and ready.
Then one night he looked at Krayton and said "pee pee potty" and that was that. We had a few days where if I put him in training diapers or underwear he would have accidents, until I realized I needed to explain about big boy underwear and now he knows "no poop on Buzz Lightyear" ;)
I am sure we will still have a couple accidents when he is distracted out and about but at home we haven't had an accident is a while.
Of course sometimes you need company in the potty. Buzz and Woody obviously!
So I thought Toy Story underwear would be the only way to go, but he prefers boxer briefs and so we have stocked up on those from Gap.
Busting some moves in his big big underwear.
Guess this means we should start thinking about a sibling for the boy, this house is not ready to be diaper less.

Disney 8/2012
So I have decided to just name these posts by month and year since we seem to frequent Disney quite a bit! I know you see a lot of Disney pictures so I am going to just share a few of my favorite moments from this trip.
This is blurry yes, but I had to snap fast and didn't even look at the setting, the kid knows how to enjoy a nice room. Krayton had a friend in Orlando from out of town and he was staying at the JW Marriott and loved it so to be closer to him we decided to try it. It was fancy!!!!Enjoying some complimentary water
The hotel was super kid friendly and had a playground
And an activity center, where I learned the kid loves a chess board
They had a full on Starbucks in the hotel, not just a starbucks bar but an entire store! This is the boy enjoying his starbucks milk
He made Pooh give him a hug at lunch
and of course fed all the characters
Still loves the Winnie the Pooh ride
It was HOT
This cracked us up, here is how the housekeeper set up the kid's toys
Imitating Potato head's hands
It was right here that I lost MY CAMERA!!!! We didn't notice until after we ate lunch, at which point I was frantically running all over Hollywood Studios, only to find it had been turned in at Guest Relations at which point I broke down crying. We actually went to Universal this same day afterwards but I left my camera in the car after that incident I was a little shaken.
Here is how we caught the kid one morning
It was a great trip minus the camera hiccup and well worth it if not only for all the time we spent in the lazy river at the hotel :)
Phone pictures from Universal coming soon....

Our Bathing Beauty
I don't know exactly why but I fell completely in love with these everyday images of our boy! This was in the ginormous fancy tub in our room our last trip to Orlando, that trip post coming soon. I just decided to snap a few while he enjoyed the tub, here is what we got.....

Some kind of Buzz Lightyear is always with this child.

Blake at 3....
Blake at 3...
At his 3 year appointment his stats were:
weight- 37.6 pounds 95%
height - 38.25 inches 50-75%
Something happened at his checkup I wanted to make sure I remember because for me it was an eye opening moment.
While telling his doctor that about his temperment, and that while he is super sweet and cuddly we also struggle with stubbornness, aggressiveness, bossiness, basically alpha make in every sense of the word!
The ped said "just as the bible says we should nurture who we were born to be, and the world needs people just like that who are strong willed and bossy." I just looked at him like you are so right! we need to learn to nurture his obvious abilities in a way that will bring more to his life and the world. that sounds pretty out there but you get my drift.
The ped also said he was very smart and his speech is right on point. When I asked is it crazy that he is still not potty trained and actually being quite stubborn about it, he said absolutely not it was fine that he wasn't. Although not even two days later we had a huge breakthrough in the potty training area and are well on our way to no diaper land for this one!
We still have not pulled the preschool trigger but we are going to be starting a preschool co op type thing at home.
He is still nursing ( I really can not believe it) but it is really hard to wean a child who is nowhere near wanting to wean, it seems cruel but I know we are going to have to start the process if he is not going to.
He still sleeps in bed with us and has a couple night wakings still but we wouldn't change it for anything. There is nothing like it.
He has never had a haircut and I think we are getting ready to do it, although now the kid place is closed and my sister has moved away and I am not sure where to go.
He is a picky eater, he actually hardly eats at all. Chicken tenders, bread, pretzels and fruit.
Here are the images from his three year old session with the amazing Christina Higman....
