The Pirate Party!

If you follow my lifestyle blog some of this will be repeats but I want to remember everything and since this is his baby book I gotta do it!

Blake loves all things pirates,  pirate swords, pirate ships, and of course Jake and the Neverland pirates so a pirate party was perfect. I will let the pictures take it from here...

Blakey helping me set up that morning, and no Fruit Loops are not a regular occurrence around here but he picked them the day before (his birthday) at the grocery store so what can you do but cringe!

Favor table, where the kids could grab some pirate gear. In the favor bags were a pirate book, pirate stickers, and a compass.

I stamped the bags to give it a pirate detail

Treasure chest filled with beads, gold coins, and water guns, and the pirate pool

 Super easy burlap banner

 My favorite detail

Pirate cake pops made by me, on their way to melting in the heat

This was my first time making a cake bunting, I learned a lot

Blake mostly ate popcorn and played with one kid at a time. He was not interested in going outside and made that clear. It was his party and he could do what he wanted but next year I think I will have a smaller party and see if he enjoys that more. I always want his parties to be all about him, and whatever makes him the happiest.

A boy's gottta build party or no party

Cash enjoying the buccaneer brew (root beer)

So proud of his pirate flag he made

Making pirate flags, which was the craft portion of the party

 A little birthday action

Just like last year Blake was not interested in the signing, blowing out candle portion of the day

And yes we had two cakes, I have this fear of not having a enough cake for people

He did a great time with our neighbor though, he immediately jumped into his arms when he arrived and it was so sweet to watch.

Pirate beads and a pirate flag.

It was a great party filled with family and friends! Thanks to everybody that came and to everybody who helped! Love y'all bunches

Happy 3rd Birthday Baby!

I probably have said or thought this thought everyday since Blake turned three "how can he possibly be three already!?" I feel like it was just yesterday he was born and making our life complete.

To My Baby Blakey,
Baby there are no words for what you mean to your Daddy and I, you are our whole world, everything we have ever wanted. Proof that miracles happen and dreams come true. Your beauty blows me away still to this day, and you should know most other people as well, you are one good looking kid! But your sweet and cuddly nature melts your Mama's heart more than anything else, and the nights we have spent cuddled up together all three of us every night for the last three years are nights we wouldn't trade for anything in the world. Your a challenge and that is for sure, full of gusto and brut and just how you were made to be. Your protective nature of your loved ones (Mama especially) is already in full force and we know you will the best husband someday for this. We know this is only the beginning and we will love and cherish every second we are able to share with you.
Love Mommy and Daddy

Onto the day....

Waking up to his gifts from Mommy and Daddy

Oh how I cherish those last few rolls

If that is not his Father's face

 Traditional birthday Krispy Kreme

 Glaze face

Picking out his own gift tradition, he requested "simpsons video game" and they didn't have it at Toys R us so onto game stop we went.

Then to the bounce house place where he bounced until he could bounce no more and asked for cheetos at the counter

Lunch at Momos his favorite pizza place

 Tweety birthday balloon

Dinner at his favorite hamburger place, Five Guys

Did you know my kid, MY KID, does not eat cake, cookies, cupcakes, candy etc??? Crazy right? The only sweet treat he will eat is Publix sugar cookies with those tiny circle sprinkles, so I made a huge sugar cookie cake. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but it turned out great. Not that Blakey would know he refused a piece.

And to all those out there who have watched Blake scream throughout every happy birthday song at his parties, here is proof he likes it when its just us and will try to blow out the candles.

I realize it seems like we feed our kid only crap, but this was his special day and my intention this day and every birthday he will have is to make it the most special day full of all his current favorite things. I would say we nailed it!

Next post the big pirate party!

July 4th 2012

Around here we have a tradition for the 4th, we spend it with the Rackleys and this year was no different. That morning we headed to "Memaw's house" as Blake calls it for some time with her and some swimming in her pool (Blake's favorite new hangout.) Then we had  cookout and the Rackleys came over, with one big minus JAKE! Jake and Krayton are buddies and every year play with fireworks, so Krayton was pretty bummed and went on firework strike that evening. Not to mention we ate and crashed on the couch trying to stay awake until fireworks started..... Later Tori said aren't you glad we are all comfortable enough to just hang out and not feel the need to entertain each other, and she is so right it is so nice to have friends that a feel more like family!

Cash enjoyed a cupcake

The boys played together with almost no fighting!!! Don't ask about the paci, he finds them in drawers and likes to chew on them

Blake loved the fireworks this year and smiled quite a bit

What's wrong Cashy?
